Passage: John 13:1-17
Series: Where Are You Growing?
Category: Christian Life and Growth
Keywords: attitude , disciple , example , growing , humble , servant , service
Jesus was teaching His disciples one of the most important principles of being a disciple in the upper room the day before He was to be crucified. The disciples were still contending for first place in their little assembly of followers and Jesus knew this needed to change. So He sat them all down and taught them a big lesson by washing their dirty feet. Being a servant was far more important than being the leader. As a matter of fact, the way to rise in leadership responsibility in the Kingdom of God was to be the lowly servant. That was completely contrary to the way the disciples thought, but Jesus came to change the way we think and behave. Listen and learn how to grow in your service to the Lord. If you live here in the USA, whether you realize it or not, you are among the wealthiest people on planet earth. And understand this, God is the one who has given you this wealth. What an amazing privilege we have, but with this privilege comes responsibility. As believers this passage makes it plain that there are attitudes and actions we need to employ to be wise stewards of the wealth God has entrusted to us. Listen and be challenged to wisely use your wealth. Click for full description and audio files

Passage: Philippians 4:1-4
Category: Comfort and Encouragement
Keywords: encouragement , joy , rejoice , overcoming circumstances
A reading of the first few verses of Philippians 4 tells us that all was not necessarily well in the church at Philippi. There were problems there like there are in every gathering of believers. But after Paul admonishes the believers regarding some of the local difficulties, he capped off his comments with this encouraging statement - "Rejoice in the Lord Always!" And just in case they didn't understand what he said, he said it again - "And again I say rejoice." Listen to this message and hear a number of reasons we as believers have to rejoice in the Lord.
