Passage: 1 Peter 1:13-17
Series: Making A Difference
Category: Christlike Character
Keywords: god is holy , holiness , purity , righteous living
What has happened to the idea of holy living? Why have we swallowed a culturally corrupted version of holiness? People talk about being like Jesus, but they think holiness is over the top. Isn't Christlikeness and holiness one in the same? This message calls believers back to a pursuit of holiness in all manner of living. The teaching is crystal clear in the Scriptures. We need to be taking our cues from the Word of God in this matter. God has called us be holy; He is in the process of making us holy. Let us cooperate with His miraculous work in our earthly pilgrimage. Click for full description and audio files

Passage: Ephesians 6:4
Series: A Study Through Ephesians
Category: Marriage and the Home
Keywords: admonition , child rearing , correction , nurture , parenting , training
A brief verse for such a broad task. But what is implied in this verse is of considerable depth. The concepts of educating, instructing, training, disciplining, correcting, reminding, warning and rebuking are all found right here in this succinct statement. But all of this must be performed with an "in the Lord" perspective for it to accomplish its God given intent. Listen carefully and allow this message to fine tune your child rearing objectives. Passage: Ephesians 6:4
Series: A Study Through Ephesians
Category: Marriage and the Home
Keywords: angry , child rearing , criticism , favoritism , hypocrisy , kids , provoke , wrath
Paul continues to shed light on how Spirit-filled families function. Healthy family relationships form the foundational health of our churches. When the families are healthy, the church has a much greater potential to impact a community and the world. But families are under attack and the world of darkness works overtime to disrupt and destroy the unity of our homes. Though our passage is brief, it reveals one of the underlying problems wreaking havoc in our homes - provoking our children to wrath. Dad and Mom, are you guilty? Perhaps you should listen and see. Passage: James 5:13-20
Series: Making A Difference
Category: Prayer
Keywords: confess sin , corporate prayer , faith , persistence , prayer
Prayer makes a difference because God makes a difference. Far too much of our ministry activities have little impact on people's lives because we fail to bathe them in prayer. God needs to be involved in our ministries and prayer summons the active involvement of God. Our text teaches us that we need to pray. It teaches us that we need to come to God with clean hearts, with hearts that believe God can do what we are asking Him to do and with hearts that are willing to pray the price of persistence. Listen and be challenged to pray so that God makes the difference we all long to see. Click for full description and audio files

Passage: Ephesians 6:1-2
Series: Study Through Ephesians
Category: Marriage and the Home
Keywords: children , honor , obedience , parents
The primary duty of a child before God is to obey and honor his/her parents. And the primary duty of a parent entrusted with a child from God is to teach that child to obey and honor. But parents must understand a fundamental premise in all of this. These children are not our own, they are an heritage of the Lord. They belong to God, and the underlying reason for teaching our children obedience and honor is so that they will learn to honor and obey the Lord their God in all things. This is eternal business. The outcome of our efforts or lack thereof will be reflected in our posterity and all they influence - exponentially. Click for full description and audio files

Passage: Psalms 121:1-8
Series: Psalms Study
Category: Comfort and Encouragement
Keywords: help , protection , safety , travel
The Jews of old sang this Psalm as they made their way from their homelands to Jerusalem at the various feast times. Traveling to and from offered its fair share of dangers. There were robbers and marauders who laid in wait to take advantage of unsuspecting travelers, and there were desert lands to pass through which subjected them to the hazards of extreme heat and dehydration. They did their part to travel wisely, but nothing could replace the watchful protection of God who was able and willing to ensure their safe travel. Click for full description and audio files
