Major Ian Thomas often said, "The death of Christ for us was to put the life of Christ in us." In many respects, this statement is quite descriptive of this message. We often look at Romans 6 with an emphasis on our victory over sin, and indeed it is. However, this is not the end of the matter, but a necessary element for an even greater end - that being the resurrection life of Christ operating within us as we live unto God. Listen to this very practical Easter Sunday message and see how the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ was designed to empower our daily life in Christ.

In Romans 6, Paul answers an objection that was common back in his day and relatively common today - the Antinomian view that once saved, people were released from the obligation of observing the moral law of God. This, of course was not the intention of God. God saved us to deliver us from sin, not give us a license to sin all the more. Then Paul lays a foundation in the next three verses to help us understand the very foundation of our sanctification - we are united with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. When Christ died to sin, we died with Him. We no longer have any allegiance to sin, but rather to live unto the holy One who died for us.
