Although the Apostle Paul had a relatively brief stay in Thessalonica, a close and abiding relationship was formed with the believers there. On a number of occasions they remembered Paul, communicated with him and sent provisions to meet his needs. This epistle was written to answer some of their personal concerns and concludes with a list of 20 brief commands to be keep before them so the church might stay the course as they continued to faithfully minister.

When our brothers and sisters stumble into sin, where do they go? God wants our church to be a safe place to get spiritual help for those who get tangled up in the fleshly failures of life. This is not just a job for the pastor and deacons, this is the responsible action of the Spirit-filled members of the church. We all bear the responsibility to make this church a place where people can find genuine help administered by the people who sincerely love them and long for them to find grace of God in their time of need.
