Follow Me, And I Will Make You Fishers of Men

Jesus called His disciples with a rather succinct statement, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. In this passage, He was speaking to fishers of fish, but He was calling them to something far more significant then merely putting food on the table. Jesus call, as simple as it was, reveals our Lord's intent, a promise of instruction, and an implication for all who would follow Him faithfully. Listen carefully, for all of us who name the name of Christ, are also called to be fishers of men.

Seeing His Shining Face

Israel's High Priest was instructed to pray for the people with a unique expression - "The Lord make His face to shine upon thee." This expression is rich with meaning and Missionary Eddie Ray unpacks the meaning with fresh insight and timely application. He answers the following five questions: (1) What does it mean to have God's face shine upon us? (2) Why do we need to see His face shine upon us? (3) How can I see His face shining upon me? (4) What hinders me from seeing His shining face? (5) When am I going to see His shining face?

Lord, Change Me

All of us are on a journey called life on a road of change. While all of us might see the need for change, not just any change will do. God has a specific change in mind and He has predetermined that we should fix our eyes on that destination. And what is that destination? Many Christians think it is heaven, but our destination is not a place... it is a person! God wants us to be like His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. If we are honest, we will recognize the fact that we have plenty of ground to cover in our endeavor to be like Christ; hence, all of us need to change; to desire such a change and to ask God to change us... Lord, Change Me!

A Psalm for the Lord's Day

This Psalm, which the Jews recited each Sabbath day for many years, still has plenty to say to New Testament believers who assemble together each Lord's Day. Praise is always in order for the gathering of God's people; and it is a good thing for us to praise God. He has given us plenty to praise Him for in the course of any week. Yes, the corporate gathering of God's people is an important event each week and Christians would do well to make it a top priority. There are many wonderful benefits when we faithfully participate in the activities of a Bible believing church. This message will acquaint you with a number of them.

Hark, The Herald Angels Sing

The shepherds were undoubtedly amazed as they heard the birth announcement of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. However, on the heels of that proclamation came another stunning scene - God dispatched a host of angelic beings that rang out with heavenly praise over this magnanimous event. The wondrous nature of this would be enough to captivate anyone's attention, but we must not lost sight of what they said. Three very important proclamations were made regarding the redemptive mission of this newborn child. Listen to what they said.

The Trial of Abraham

The trial of Abraham is an amazing story that prefigures what would one day take place on Mount Moriah 2000 years later when a loving Father would accompany His only Son to a place of sacrifice. Abraham trusted God to deliver his only son Isaac, and Isaac trusted his father submitting himself a sacrificial death. What a wonderful picture of the Gospel all the way back in the book of beginnings. In this story we see the triumph of God in the trial of Abraham.

Dwelling in the Secret Place

The Christian who learns to dwell with his God in secret will experience a most sacred security. The Psalmist begins by giving his personal testimony of this dwelling; then he recommends it to those who will listen. The Psalmist is concluded with a word from the Lord himself to that secret place dweller. What a privilege! What protection! We must make it a priority.

The Responsibility of Reaping

Jesus said the harvest truly is plenteous. Believers are faced with three responsibilities to reap in Christ's harvest field: They need to embrace the fact of a ready harvest, the must address the failure for not reaping the ready harvest and they must follow the footsteps for reaping the prepared harvest. This message will inspire you to be busy about the Lord's business of sowing and reaping in the Lord's harvest field of souls.

The Overflowing Life

The fact that Christ lives in us is a dynamic of the Christian life that is often overlooked and consequently seldom accessed. The Spirit of Christ lives in us to impact the life of others, but we must thirst for this life, depend on Christ to meet the needs we face and thereby partake of the provisions He has for us. This message takes a look at the prerequisite, the principle and the promise of the overflowing life.
