Mothers' Day is a Comin'
Posted on 05/02/10
It officially happens just once a year, but if we’re not careful, it will sneak up on us and pass right by, and we’ll miss another opportunity to express our love and appreciation to the one we call Mom.
But what do I do? Now, you know that it doesn’t take a whole lot of doing to please a Mom. Whatever you decide to do, just be sure it has one key ingredient… YOU! She doesn’t need anything fancy, in most cases she already has all the fancy things a person would ever desire. All she really wants is something with YOU on it or in it. Let me give you a few ideas:
How about a framed picture of you and your family
Or a letter expressing your thoughts and thanks
Flowers with a little note from you
An invitation to a nice meal with you
A free car wash certificate - washed by you
A figurine to remind her of you
A meaningful recording of you and your children
You could give her a bottle of her favorite perfume
A handmade item – made by you
A poem written by one of her favorite authors - you
A picture collage of the various things you do
Or how about some quality time alone with you.
I know most of us are traveling at the speed of life and our closest relationships tend to suffer the most. Let’s do a little planning so that doesn’t happen. Mother’s Day is just a week away. If you haven’t done so already, decide what you will do for Mom – and get started today. Let’s make sure this Mother’s Day is a very special day for Mom.
